Plucked Fruit: a box of apples is a still life. A still life is the contemplation of the quiet. Often the quiet becomes the overlooked, and the overlooked becomes the forgotten. Here painting and sound (there is an accompaning CD by Scott Sherk) become the memory of things not to be forgotten. Plucked Fruit can invoke all the sensory experiences that form the memory of eating, tasting, holding, picking and smelling an apple.
